Tim has been plugged in to the politics of the capital for more than 25 years, covering the creation of the London mayoralty and closely following the fortunes of the three people who have held the office so far.
He was political editor of BBC London and – until 2017- presenter of Sunday Politics London and its predecessor the London Politics Show. He has devoted a lot of time to understanding some of the capital’s most pressing challenges -including housing, transport and air quality. As a former local government correspondent he has also focused attention on the capital’s councils. His work on the safeguarding issues raised by the case of Baby P was recognised in a BAFTA-nominated BBC documentary. He contributed to a landmark book on two decades of the mayoralty – ‘London’s Mayor at 20.’
