Panellists:
Re:State is delighted to be hosting a panel event at Labour Party Conference.
The new Government has been clear that the extraordinary challenges of our age – from building a future-fit NHS to making Britain a clean energy superpower – cannot be addressed through a business-as-usual approach to government. Instead, they require a relentless focus on a core set of ‘missions’, which cut across departments and draw on entrepreneurialism across society.
Key to the success of missions, is taking a strategic view of how they are financed in order to maximise innovation and ensure that capital from other sectors is crowded in to turbocharge delivery. This will be especially true of the mission to achieve the highest sustained growth in the G7. The success of missions will, ultimately, be judged at the ballot box and it is the public they must deliver for.
Re:State is delighted to hold this panel with Meg Hillier MP, Chair, Treasury Select Committee, Professor Anand Menon, Director, UK in a Changing Europe, and Jonathan Slater, former Permanent Secretary of the Department for Education to discuss how public and private funding can be effectively mobilised to facilitate a mission-led approach to government.
Please note this an in-person, public event in the secure zone. If you would like to attend, please join us in Arena Room 8, ACC Liverpool.
