Emily Middleton, Director General, Digital Centre Design, Department for Science, Innovation and Technology

Designing the digital centre: the future of government digital services

Under the new Government, the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) has expanded in both scope and size. It has brought in experts in data, digital and AI from the Government Digital Service (GDS), the Central Digital and Data Office (CDDO) and the Incubator for AI (i.AI) to unite efforts in the digital transformation of public services under one department.

This move provides an opportunity for a new era of digital transformation in the State, making the public’s experience of services more personalised, convenient and timesaving. And it provides a fresh chance to remove structural challenges, such as data sharing and adoption of AI across government.

Re:State is delighted to welcome Emily Middleton, Director General for Digital Centre Design, DSIT, to share her emerging proposals for redesigning the digital centre of government and get feedback from experts with deep experience working in and with Whitehall.

This is an invite-only, Chatham House roundtable.
