Re:State was delighted to host a panel event at Labour Party Conference in partnership with TPXimpact.

The Government is explicitly prioritising economic growth and sees a renaissance of housebuilding as central to that plan. To achieve these dual goals, Government must look beyond Westminster to get Britain building the right homes in the right places. Secure, affordable housing is the bedrock of a prosperous economy – key to people’s wellbeing and the resilience of our communities.

Yet, for too many, home ownership remains a distant dream and housing shortages are contributing to increasingly unaffordable rents. And without the right infrastructure to support it, housing development won’t be successfully integrated into local and regional economies. To reverse these worrying trends, it is clear Britain will need to deliver more housing – and challenge the orthodoxies which underpin the current system.
