Kevin Hollinrake MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government

Local power, national growth: a Conservative vision for local government

The future of local government in England is at a turning point. While
devolution has brought greater local control to some areas, questions remain
about how best to structure and empower local and regional authorities to
deliver economic growth and high-quality public services. As regional
governance evolves and discussions around local government
reorganisation continue, it is vital that any changes strengthen accountability,
improve efficiency, and deliver tangible benefits for communities. From the
role of metro mayors and strategic authorities to the structure of local
authorities, the next phase of English governance is crucial.

Re:State is delighted to welcome Kevin Hollinrake MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, to share his perspective on how a Conservative government should approach the future of devolution and local government reform.

This private partners roundtable will be held in-person and will take place under the Chatham House rule.
