State of the state 2025

The 'State of the State', in partnership with Deloitte, is a flagship publication exploring the key issues and opportunities facing public services. The report is based on an exclusive lpsos public poll, and around 100 interviews with public sector leaders. These provide both an insider’s view of public services, and a citizen's view of public priorities and how those services are functioning. This is an exciting year, with a new Government committed to recovery and reform.

The 13th 'State of the state' report will therefore look ahead to public services in 2035, exploring how the State can seize the opportunity to build more responsive, productive and personalised services, and different parts of government can work together to ensure Britain is fit for the challenges ahead.

Speakers:

  • Georgia Gould MP, Parliamentary Secretary, Cabinet Office
  • Kate Josephs CB, Chief Executive, Sheffield City Council
  • Lucy Fisher, Whitehall Editor, Financial Times
  • Ed Roddis, Director, Government & Public Services Research, Deloitte
