Dr Lara Stoimenova

Lara was appointed as Trustee of Re:State in October 2020.

She is a competition and regulatory economist with over 20 years’ experience. She is the founder of Sigma Economics (an economics consulting firm) and co-founder of Simulnova Software (a tech business helping firms understand and mitigate the complex nature of their risks). She is also a non-executive member on the boards of the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority and Portsmouth Water, where she also chairs their respective Audit and Risk Committees. In March 2024 she also joined the board of the UK’s Payment Systems Regulator as a NED.

Prior to this Lara was a partner at Flint Global, where she set up their Competition and Regulatory practice. She also worked in senior roles at Ofcom (the UK communications regulator) and the CMA (the UK competition authority).
