I joined Re:State shortly before we kicked off our newest chapter, reimagining the role and shape of the state — and research topics that cut across our two major work programmes on Whitehall reform and the future of health and care. This has so far included reports on mission-led government and special advisers, achieving efficiency in public spending, reforming the Civil Service Fast Stream, boosting vaccine uptake in the UK and tackling antimicrobial resistance, among others.

My favourite Reformer is… 

Robert Peel, for repealing the Corn Laws and helping the rural poor of England.
