On Monday 9 November, Re:State published letters to the Electoral Commission and The Brexit Party, regarding The Brexit Party's application to change name to 'Reform UK'.
The story was picked by The Daily Mail, Evening Standard, The Telegraph, The Sun, The Independent and The New European, as well as a number of regional publications.
Responding to the Chancellor’s announcement that furlough will be extended to March 2021, Charlotte Pickles, Director, Re:State think tank, said:
“The extension of full furlough will provide welcome relief to those businesses and individuals facing a very difficult Winter.
“This will not, however, be sufficient to save jobs if the Government continues to resort to the blunt tool of lockdowns after December 2nd.
“It is essential that the next four weeks are used to fix NHS Test and Trace, which today reported its lowest ever performance statistics. Without this, a cycle of lockdown, release and repeat will drive even greater economic damage.”

Responding to NHS statistics on the growing backlog of care, Eleonora Harwich, Director of Research, Reform think tank, said:
“The number of patients waiting for more than 52 weeks for treatment jumped 33 per cent between July-August. This means that an extra 28,000 individuals face future ill health or disabilities, due to delays in their treatment. This is unacceptable and requires urgent attention.
“While some progress is being made on median waiting times, at 54% the NHS is well under its target of 92% of patients starting treatment within 18 weeks.
“A pragmatic approach to this capacity issue is now urgently needed. Local health teams need to lead the response by reorganising resources and creating specialist centres to deal with particular procedures, repurposing Nightingale facilities, and extending contracts with private providers.”
