Angie Ridgwell

Angie Ridgwell is Chief Executive of Hertfordshire County Council, having previous been Chief Executive of Lancashire County Council from 2018 to 2024.

Prior to these two roles she was Director General for Finance and Corporate Services at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

She has also worked for various public sector bodies and local authorities, including Bristol City, Coventry City, Bridgnorth District, and Thurrock councils, principally as Chief Executive or Director of Finance. Angie has experience in consultancy, including as an associate with KPMG, where she acted as Executive Director at the London Development Agency and interim CFO at North-East Lincolnshire Council.

In the later stages of her career, Angie has focused on transformation situations, most recently overseeing the merger of two Government Departments to form BEIS and supporting Bristol City Council as it adapted to leadership under the new democratically elected mayor.
